Summer Style Trends

As professional hair stylists and colorists, at Morgan & Morgan we are always here to offer advice and ideas but sometimes it is nice to have some thoughts before you come to the salon.
Sometimes, all you need is a little change. At other times, you’ll only be satisfied with a drastic cut.
Whether you want to go big or small, here are some new haircut ideas to consider when you come in for your new ‘do’

Pixie Cut

Not everyone suits long hair and although the trend over the past few years has been for length, more and more the hip and the stylish are embracing the hot new ‘short do’. If you’re tired of taking care of long locks that need tons of shampoo and conditioner, why not cut it all off? If you have mid-long length hair but wear it tied up more than 50% of the time, then maybe a short sassy style is right for you? Pixie cuts have become popular; there are dozens of celebrities sporting the look. Easy to maintain, chic and sharp this is a ‘must-have’ for anyone wanting to be up with the latest trends

However, if you want to leave your hair long, get it styled into layers. Work with the advice of your stylist as to long they are, but no matter what, they’ll frame your face, and keep your hair from looking dull. It’s not that big of a change, but it can make you look entirely different. There is nothing more unflattering (or unstylish) as long flat hair with no discernible shape or style

A new style doesn’t have to involve scissors. Instead of getting a cut, you could colour your hair whether your colourist picks a natural shade or you go bold with pink or blue. If you want something interesting, but don’t want to be too risky,  this seasons ‘rose gold’ is a great option or get pieces of a contrasting or pastel colour. You could even get one panel coloured or get a colored extension put in.

Fringes  make a big impact on your appearance. Even if you’re already sporting a fringe, you can style them in a new way. You can get side-swept bangs or have them cut straight across. You can get them styled so that they look choppy or blunt. There are plenty of choices, it’s all up to your tastes.

Not sure if you prefer short or long hair? Try getting it cut to a medium length. Bobs don’t suit  everyone, its a pretty classic look and to work well you need to be prepared to spend a little time styling your hair.

If you want to be unique, you have to take risks. Shave one or both sides of your head. It’s a drastic move that will grab everyone’s attention. It sounds crazy, but you might love it. It only works with some haircuts, so make sure that your style would match the decision.

This isn’t exactly a haircut, but it’s an easy way to change up your look. Simply change the way your hair is parted. You can move it to the middle or have it arching to one side. You don’t even have to leave the house to change it. You have the power in your own hands.
