Where in the world (pt 2)

Where in the world are they now?

Some people say it with love…some say it in bewilderment…but the Morgan’s have a few great passions in life; their hair salon & all the people who make it the greatest place in the world to work (clients & staff), their friends, their puppies, music and travel!

Those that know them understand that combining travel with music makes up for the most exciting part of their year!

“Every time we go away, we have people asking us about our latest adventure; so I thought this time we would give you a little window into our adventures in Los Angeles, Miami, Mexico & Coachella”

So…we are back in LA for the last leg of the trip…next up is Coachella

But our trip started out three weeks ago in South Beach Miami.

Why Miami – well two reasons (combined) – the first was all about the music…the chance to go to Ultra Music Festival, an annual outdoor electronic music festival that occurs in March in the city of Miami, Florida, United States. Ultra is held in Downtown Miami in Bayfront Park. In 2013, a record 55,000 people per day attended the festival.

Needless to say it was a ridiculous 3 days where we saw some phenomenal music. Although the majority of the crowd where there for the headliners (the likes of David Guetta, Avicii, Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia) we were to be found at the ‘Live Stage’ having a blast with a smaller more eclectic (and we would like to say tasteful) crowd. Highlights for us were:

Thievery Corporation
Booka Shade
Crystal Castles
Pretty Lights
Snoop Dogg

This was a great mix of old and new (well mainly old but thats ok) that kept us happy and more importantly dancing for three days

The other reason for being in Miami was for our 20th Wedding Anniversary.

When you live together and work together the challenges of marriage can be amplified, and we are well aware of the importance of taking time out to celebrate of life together. Part of the reason we take time off regularly is so that we can go away and just hang out together without the pressures and responsibilities of the business. Any marriage should be celebrated and cherished and we are proud of the accomplishment of 20 years together.

From Miami we took off (with our gorgeous bridesmaid Anna) on Honeymoon to Mexico City

Dont believe what you hear about Mexico…in our experience it is one of the most hospitable, friendly and culturally diverse places in the world. We have had the most amazing experiences there and this trip was no different.

Highlights of Mexico City were the ammmaaaazzziing food (especially the fave little place we found La Cantina #20), the Frida Kahlo Museum and the trip down to Taxco (one of the largest silver mining areas in Mexico)

From Mexico City we traveled to Cabo San Lucas and back to our familia at La Hacienda El Nido

Gary and Xochil are the most amazing hosts and while most of Los Cabo’s tourists are holed up in the crazy big resorts we have the most amazing Casa to stay in….

We stayed at El Nido last time we were in Cabo and it was as gorgeous as we remembered it!

Most of the time in Los Cabos was pretty laid back…Steve did some fishing and apart from one crazy day in Todos Santos with a bottle of tequila and a mad mexican amigo called Ernesto (and those photos stay in the private collection…what goes on tour….), we just chilled out.

The one great highlight was a cooking course we did to learn how to make traditional Mexican Comfort food. It was such a treat to learn to cook (and then eat) some phenomenal Mexican food made in the traditional ways

We are looking forward to recreating some of this when we get home, so it will be Comida el Mexico for a while in the Casa Morgan kitchen

More images to follow after Coachella…keep you posted
